Halle Berry always kills it in the fashion department, and she certainly certainly brought it on the 2011 Academy Award red carpet.

The Oscar-winning actress wore a showstopping, crystal-encrusted corset gown with organza and silk tulle ruffles by Marchesa. Simple makeup and large diamond earrings completed the look. Halle is on hand to present at this year’s ceremonies.

Tinseltown Ladies Get the Pre-Oscar Partying Underway

As the Tinseltown movie stars ready for the grandest date in their calendar year, a bevy of lovely ladies gathered together for the Fourth Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party in West Hollywood, California on Friday night (February 25).

Presented by Perrier-Jouet while held at Soho House, Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry looked stunning as she spent much of the evening alongside Women in Film President Cathy Schulman.

Joining Miss Berry were a trio of Academy Award Best Supporting Actress nominees, as Amy Adams, Hailee Steinfeld and Melissa Leo were all in attendance.

Rounding out the guest list, "Private Practice" star Kate Walsh and former "House" actress Jennifer Morrison mingled amongst revelers at the swanky indoor/outdoor fete - which boasted a relaxed setting with comfy couches and chairs spread around well-manicured garden beds.

The Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party comes as the biggest names in show business ready for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, which will be airing live from The Kodak Theatre on Sunday, February 27th at 8PM ET on ABC.

10. Halle Berry (2002)
Halle Berry became the first African American woman to win an Oscar in 2002 for her role in Monster's Ball. She was in tears while accepting the statue, and gave a very emotional speech. She began: "Oh, my god. Oh, my god. I'm sorry. This moment is so much bigger than me. This moment is for Dorothy Dandridge, Lena Horne, Diahann Carroll. It's for the women that stand beside me, Jada Pinkett, Angela Bassett, Vivica Fox. And it's for every nameless, faceless woman of color that now has a chance because this door tonight has been opened."

Only hours after going to court with her daughter Nahla's father, Gabriel Aubry, news breaks that Halle Berry will now rejoin the cast of New Year's Eve, a film she had recently pulled out of.

A rep for New Line and a rep for Berry both tell ET that the actress will indeed have a role in New Year's Eve, though it will be a different role than her original part, which was taken over by Katherine Heigl.

Back in January, Berry reportedly gave up her original role in the film in order to be available for litigation regarding a custody battle over Nahla.

Berry met in a Los Angeles Superior courtroom Wednesday to discuss custody issues with Aubry, a source tells ET. Aubry filed papers Tuesday in the same court to dismiss the custody case where he wanted to be legally recognized as the father of the young girl. Berry and Aubry were in a heated dispute earlier this month amid reports of angry emails, text messages, voicemails and an ugly accusation of racism.

Halle Berry Takes a Break from Custody Battle

Halle Berry Takes a Break from Custody Battle

Looking to pick up some tools, Halle Berry was spotted at Koontz The Hardware Store in Hollywood yesterday (February 8).

The “Monster’s Ball” actress was joined by a couple of friends as she strolled past paparazzi and back to her car.

In related news, Halle Berry told Ebony magazine that even though she’s half-white and her babydaddy Gabriel Aubry is caucasian, she still considers her daughter Nahla black.

“I feel she’s black. I’m black and I’m her mother, and I believe in the one-drop theory. I'm not going to put a label on it. I had to decide for myself and that's what she's going to have to decide -- how she identifies herself in the world. What I think is that that's something she's going to have to decide."

"And I think, largely, that will be based on how the world identifies her. That's how I identified myself. But I feel like she's black."
